What is the Neighborhood Christmas Train?
The Neighborhood Christmas Train Experience is one of the largest Christmas train villages in the Atlanta metro area. Every December, it comes to life indoors in Norcross — a detailed winter neighborhood with multiple train layouts in motion, thousands of lights, and hands-on activities designed for the whole family.
It’s not something you walk past. It’s something you walk through together.
All proceeds benefit Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries (NCM), so every ticket you buy helps feed, shelter, clothe, and care for neighbors in Gwinnett County year-round.
Is the Neighborhood Christmas Train good for young kids?
Yes — it was built with children in mind. Here’s what kids can do inside the Neighborhood:
Drive a toy car or truck along village roads that wind around the train displays
Watch multiple trains run from up close
Take a turn running trains themselves in the Engineer Training Center
Explore themed train layouts and video ride-throughs

What’s the “drive a car” experience?
When kids arrive, they can choose a small toy car or truck and “drive” it along the roads that circle the edge of the village. It gives them something purposeful to do — and it naturally keeps the experience calm, immersive, and paced. Instead of rushing through, children slow down and notice things.
It’s one of those small details that parents appreciate the most.
Can children touch the trains?
We keep the experience as open and barrier-free as possible so children can see, hear, and feel genuinely close to the trains. To help protect the displays and keep the magic intact for everyone:
Trains and tracks are for looking, not touching
Children under 14 should stay with an adult
Toy cars stay on the designated village roadways

Do we need tickets? How much do they cost?
Yes, tickets are required. They help us manage the experience for every family and support the mission behind the event. Here’s what to know:

Children 2 and under are free

Is there food or hot chocolate?
On many evenings, you’ll find seasonal treats — hot chocolate, holiday snacks, and sometimes food trucks or special refreshments. What’s available varies by date, so check our social channels closer to your visit for the evening’s offerings.
Something warm is usually nearby. It’s Christmas, after all.
Can we take photos and videos?
Please do. Photos and videos are encouraged. Many families tell us their Neighborhood Christmas Train photos become part of their holiday story year after year — and that’s exactly what we hope for.
